Hi, I'm Jalf — and I cook every single dish myself.
I started Corner Canteen because I wanted to give Crediton something it was missing — a proper local canteen where you could walk in, sit down, and eat something genuinely good without spending a fortune or waiting forever.
I'm 28 years old and I've been cooking professionally since I was 19. Before opening here at 8 Park Street, I worked in kitchens across Devon learning how to make simple food taste exceptional. The focus has always been the same: fresh ingredients, honest recipes, and cooking with care.

Today we serve breakfasts, hot mains, sides and desserts Monday to Saturday — and we deliver across the whole EX17 area. Whether you're a regular who pops in every morning or someone ordering lunch from the office, you'll always get the same quality plate.
